AUBURN — Margaret E. (Grant) Merrill, 90, died Feb. 10, at Schooner Estates.
She was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Lewiston, the daughter of the late Raymon and Carrie (Girou) Grant. She married Halvor Merrill on Oct. 2, 1943. She lived most of her married life in Cumberland Center.
She graduated from Farmington Normal School majoring in home economics and was a member of the Prides Corner Congregational Church, where she served on the Guild, was active in the Garden Club and Holiday Fairs.
She was a member of the Cumberland Fire and Rescue Auxiliary, the Maine Cemetery Association, Robin Dow Senior Citizens and the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and hooking rugs.
She is survived by her brother, Irving Grant and his wife, Charlotte, of Lewiston; nephews, James Grant and his wife, Jeannette, of Clearwater, Fla., Richard Grant and his wife, Kathy, of Lewiston, Ronald Grant and his wife, Sharon, of Greene, Stanley Grant and his wife, Sharon, of Lewiston, Donald Grant and his wife, Laural, of Lisbon and Stephen Grant and his wife, Pamela, of Lewiston; and cousins, Alice Ross of Auburn and Charlotte Walker and her husband, Elmer, of Farmington, James Brann and his wife, Constance, of Auburn and Elwood Brann of Lewiston.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Benson and Raymon Grant Jr.; and nephew, George Grant.

MERRILL — Margaret E., 90, died Feb. 10 in Auburn. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Pride’s Corner Congregational Church, 235 Pride St., Westbrook. Interment will be in Moss Side Cemetery in the spring.
