OXFORD — The Oxford Fire Rescue Department will construct a building to be placed at the Oxford Public Safety Building, 701 Main St., for the purpose of collecting clean returnable bottles and cans.

Proceeds will be used to fund the purchase of equipment for the department. At times during the year the department may also designate a month for proceeds to go to a nonprofit organization in the town.

Construction of the building will start in March. Donations for the construction will be accepted.

Prior to the construction of the building, the department will accept bottle donations on Saturdays. Clean, bagged returnable bottles and cans may be placed in a designated pickup truck located in the front of the station.
