LEWISTON — Planning is underway for the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council’s first-ever youth summit, and members of the group are seeking digital photography and drawings from other Lewiston youth.
The theme of the submissions should be youth’s perspective of positive aspects about Lewiston, including, but not limited to, scenery, festivals, entertainment, school events, sporting events, buildings and landmarks.
Photos or drawings will be reviewed by the council members for possible inclusion on a “Lewiston In the Eyes of Youth” DVD that they have been gathering photos for during the last few months. The DVD will be debuted at the Lewiston Youth Summit 2010, to be held April 16, at the Lewiston Armory for an audience of youth representing each high school in Androscoggin County.
Holly Lavorgna, LYAC vice chair said, “We want Lewiston youth to visually share with us what they like about the city of Lewiston. We are hoping the completed DVD will be a Lewiston image booster, as LYAC wants to share with other youth throughout Androscoggin County why we are proud to live here.”
Photos or drawings may be electronically sent to [email protected] or mailed on a CD or DVD to the Lewiston Youth Advisory Council, 27 Pine St., Lewiston, ME 04240. The deadline for submissions is Monday, March 1, 2010.
