LIVERMORE — A Livermore couple was arrested Wednesday in connection to burglaries in Livermore and Turner, Maine State Police Trooper Michael Chavez said Friday.
Ricky Vining, 22, and his wife, Meagan Vining, 19, of 1503 Federal Road, also known as Route 4, were arrested on four counts each of felony burglary, Chavez said.
They were initially held on $20,000 cash bail each but after going before a judge, the bail was reduced to $500 cash each, he said. Each charge carries up to five years in prison.
The investigation is ongoing, Chavez said, and he expects the couple to face more charges once it is concluded.
Cash, jewelry, laptops, loose change, video game consoles were among the items stolen, Chavez said.
Chavez along with Troopers Tyler Stevenson and Thomas Pappas are investigating several burglaries and attempted burglaries in Androscoggin County.
Three burglaries occurred on Turkey Lane in Livermore on Feb. 12.
Two other burglaries occurred on North Parrish Road and Cortland Road in Turner on Feb. 16.
The mode of operation was one of the couple would go to the front door and knock on the door and another would go to the back door, Chavez said.
If no one answered, entrance was either made by force or through an unlocked entry, he said.
Evidence collected from the scenes included footprints, he said. Witnesses also reported seeing a vehicle and suspects involved, he said.
In Turner, a witness even confronted Meagan Vining to get identification after seeing her at residences, he said. Information was turned in to police.
Police found evidence at the couple’s residence that matched evidence collected from the burglary and attempted burglary scenes, Chavez said.
Police were waiting for the couple when they arrived home to arrest them, he said, which was done without resistance.
