FARMINGTON – A married couple pleaded not guilty Friday to endangering the welfare of children.

Carrie Broadway, 33, and Brian Broadway, 32, both of Jay, each pleaded not guilty to two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

The Broadways were arrested in January on charges of felony aggravated furnishing of schedule drugs and endangering the welfare of a child when Jay police followed up on a state agency complaint.

The drug charges are expected to go a Franklin County grand jury in March.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services issued a report to police on Dec. 29 that the couple was providing marijuana to children under age 14, Jay police Chief Larry White Sr. said in January.

The couple posted $500 cash bail each to get out of a Farmington jail.
