PITTSTON (AP) — Maine state police have arrested a man on sexual assault and other charges after going through a backlog of computer-related cases dealing with child pornography.

Authorities say 42-year-old Thomas Castle of Pittston has been indicted on six counts of gross sexual assault, two counts of unlawful sexual contact and four counts of possession of sexually explicit materials.

Sgt. Glenn Lang, the supervisor of the Computer Crimes Unit, tells WCSH-TV his unit first started investigating Castle in September.

Authorities say Castle is accused of assaulting two girls under the age of 14 over several years between 1990 and 1999.
