Burchard M. Cook

1937 – 2010

FARMINGTON — Burchard M. Cook, 72, of Farmington Falls, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born on May 28, 1937, in Dryden, the son of Clyde and Sylvia (Witham) Cook. He attended Jay schools and went on to work for Forster Manufacturing in Dryden and East Wilton for over 30 years, retiring in 1999.

On Apr. 28, 1973, he married Dorothy Breen in Farmington Falls.

Burchard was a member of the Farmington Falls Fire Department and enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, farming, horses and most recently four-wheeling.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Dorothy, of Farmington Falls; children, Cindy Cook of Farmington, Richard Millett and his wife, Gwen, of New Sharon, Gail Clark and her fiancé, Larry Schmidt, of Livermore Falls, Sandra Turner and her husband, Jason, of Fort Stewart, Ga., and James Millett of Farmington Falls; siblings, Celia Wahl of Jay, Dale Cook of Pennsylvania, Linda Kimball of Canton, Steve Cook and his wife, Hope, of Texas, Faye Hewitt and her husband, Donald, of Vermont and Betty Levesque of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Dennis; sisters, Dena and Marion.
