AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer a human resources certification preparatory course from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 25 through May 20. The cost of the course is $695 and includes books and materials.
The course will provide an overview of the key areas in human resources management and assist human resources professionals who are preparing for the professional or senior professional in human resources certification exams.
Utilizing materials from the Society for Human Resource Management’s Resource Learning System, the course will explore the six functional areas, responsibilities and associated knowledge as defined by the Human Resources Certification Institute. The class will address the key components to be covered on the certification exam, including strategic management, workforce planning and employment, human resource development, compensation and benefits, employee labor relations, safety, health and risk management.
The workshop will be taught by Jessica Wentzell Palladino, SPHR. Palladino is assistant vice president and human resources generalist with Androscoggin Bank and is the vice-president/president-elect of the Central Maine Human Resources Association. She earned her certificate of human resource management from the University of Southern Maine and has her senior professional of human resources from the Human Resources Certificate Institute.
