LISBON FALLS — A Lisbon Falls man remained behind bars Sunday night after being charged earlier that same day with breaking into vehicles and at least one home over the last several weeks.
Justin Hug, 26, of 20 Maple St., Lisbon, was charged with one count of burglary and six counts of burglary of a motor vehicle. He was arrested early Sunday morning at a residence on School Street by the Lisbon Police Department and remained in the Androscoggin County Jail Sunday night.
Sgt. Scott Stewart of the Lisbon Police Department said that authorities recovered at least $1,000 cash and several other electronic items and property stolen from vehicles over the past several weeks. Stewart said that Hug could face additional charges after officials executed a search warrant at Hug’s residence Sunday afternoon that yielded a number of other items connected to the case.
According to Stewart, there had only been one or two car break-ins at a time reported to the Lisbon Police Department up until Saturday night, when there was a rash of them that included three vehicles at one residence and a break-in at a home. All of the burglaries occurred in Lisbon Falls around the area of High, School, Plummer and Maple streets.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Lisbon Police Department at 353-2500 and ask to speak with Detective Bernie McAllister.
