FARMINGTON — Charles came to the Franklin County Animal Shelter as a stray that was skinny, shy and sickly, said staff, but look at him now.

He is a very handsome boy that loves to be held, they said. Charles is one of the staff favorites that they love to show off to potential adopters. They said he is still at the shelter then because he tends to hide when people first come to the shelter.

Even though he may melt into your arms and rub his head up into yours, staff said, he shies away when people go to pick him up.

They said that he will be cuddly on winter nights and called him “the king of all hearts.”

New dogs at the shelter include mini pincher mix and a lab mix.

For more information, visit the shelter at 550 Industry Road or call 778-2638.
