DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church on the Hill will have a free turkey pie supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m., or until the food is gone, Friday, Feb. 26.

Last November, the church held a free community Thanksgiving dinner. The church members who worked to bring the dinner to the table were disappointed by the turnout from the community. Many turkeys were roasted and sliced with the preparers unsure of the number of attendees.

After the dinner, the meat was frozen with the anticipation of using it later in the winter.

Donations will be accepted to supplement the Missions Committee funds. In addition to various projects around the world, the Missions group at the church is committed to assisting the local community, from its Christmas White Gift program, ongoing food collections and emergency funds for many who turn to the church for help with various needs, such as fuel or utilities.
