1932 – 2010

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Robert C. Hamilton, 77, of Manchester, N.H., died Feb. 21.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 24, 1932, the son of Harold C. and Lucretia H. (Bonney) Hamilton. He was educated at Gould Academy in Bethel and attended Bowdoin College, prior to earning his bachelor’s degree from Babson College.

 Most recently, he had been employed by Books Are Fun in Concord, where he became known as “The Bookman.” Previously, he had spent many years working in the wire industry.

Family members include his children, Robert and his wife, Jill Hamilton, of Easton, Pa., Peter and his wife, Kimberly Hamilton, of Ellicott City, Md., Deborah Hamilton and her husband, John Novak, of Towson, Md., Marcia and her husband, John True, of Mt. Airy, Md., Michele and her husband, Kerry McCoole, of Bedford, N.H., Lynda and her husband, Christopher King, of Concord, Mass., and Michael and his wife, Michele MacKenzie, of Worcester, Mass.; his father, Harold C. “Ted” Hamilton of South Paris; 17 grandchildren; one special cousin, Sally Day of South Paris; and three friends who Bob considered extended family, Jeffrey Pike, William Lamotte Jr. and Charles Bovina.
