Legion meeting
LISBON FALLS — The Nelson-Conley American Legion Post 66 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Slovak Hall upstairs meeting room, Avery Street. All members and active-duty personnel are invited to attend.
Widows fellowship
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, March 1, at the United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin for fellowship at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch.
All interested widows in the area are invited to attend. The group meets the first Monday of each month unless a holiday, then it is held on the second Monday.
Dog obedience
AUBURN — The Great Falls Dog Obedience Club will start a six-week dog obedience class starting Wednesday, March 3. Dogs and puppies must be at least 3 1/2-months-old and vaccinated. Beginners class is at 6:30 p.m. and advanced at 7:30. For more information and to register, call the club’s trainer, Diane Harrington, at 784-7578.
Rebekah meeting
AUBURN — Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, in the recreation room at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane, for a social meeting to entertain the residents and guests of the home. The other two lodges in the district, Collfax 27 of Mechanic Falls and Nina 86 of Lisbon, received an invitation to join and play musical bingo with prizes.
A business meeting will follow, during which a collection will be taken for the Arthritis Fund. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies were selected as the recipient of the 2009 Floyd B. Odlum Making a Difference Award for the long standing support of IOOF and Rebekah Lodges that have helped make a difference in the lives of children, people and families across the country coping with arthritis. The presentation was made Nov. 20 in Atlanta.
