Jeannette L. Fournier

1912 – 2010

LEWISTON — Jeannette L. Fournier, 97, formerly of 18 Malo St., Lewiston, died Monday, Feb. 22, at the Marshwood Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for the past seven years.

She was born in Van Buren, Dec. 22, 1912, the daughter of Laurent and Amelia Gagnon Tardiff. Educated in Van Buren schools, she married Donozor Fournier on June 15, 1935. Mr. Fournier passed away on Aug. 3, 1987.

A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Raymond and wife, Barbara, of Madeira Beach, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Lois Fournier of Brunswick; nine grandchildren, Lorraine Curran of Sabattus, Pauline Fournier of Quincy, Mass., Diane Levin of Tuftenboro, N.H., Rachel York of Augusta, Michael Fournier of Auburn, Claire Fournier of Turner, Mark Fournier of Sabattus, Gina Fournier of Dresden and Kevin Fournier of Old Orchard; and several great-grandchilden.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Richard; three brothers, Romeo, Edgar and Norman Tardiff; and five sisters, Rose Coskery, Germaine Jewett, Rita Tardiff, Simone Gagne and Constance Allen.
