The Auburn/Lewiston LYMCA 5th and 6th Grade Boys Travel Team had a perfect 3-0 record in the playoffs last weekend to clinch the championship. ‘Y’ (10-1) easily handled Skowhegan in the quarterfinals before a narrow 54-51 victory over Augusta in the semis. ALYMCA met Gardiner in the championship game Sunday afternoon. After a slow first quarter ended with the boys down 15-7, they rallied back to tie the game at 22 by halftime. Seesaw action ensued in the second half until ‘Y’ took the lead for good with 2:30 remaining. The team slowly stretched its lead over the final minutes to win 59-51, clinching the Central Maine Basketball Conference Championship. Members of the team are C.J.
