Arlene H. Ricker

1922 – 2010

LEWISTON — Arlene H. Ricker, 87, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Russell Park Manor.

She was born in Buckfield, Sept. 28, 1922, to Charlotte (Cobb) and Carroll Hutchinson.

She married Wendell C. Ricker on May 28, 1950. Together they raised three daughters. She was a homemaker, former Avon representative, and hostess at the Steer House, and a teller at St. Joseph’s (now Rainbow) Credit Union.

She belonged to the CMMC Women’s Association and Fairlawn Country Club. She enjoyed playing golf and having lunch at Applebee’s after line-dancing. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah R. Blanchette and her husband, Ronald; her granddaughter, Krista Bean, and her husband, Richard, and their children Madison, Zakary and Ava; her grandson, Nicholas Knowlton and his wife, Brie, and their children Evan and Natalee; grandson, Jonathan Petrucelli with his adopted/extended Massachusetts family; her sister, June Coyne; sister-in-law, Jeanne Hutchinson; son-in-law, Daniel E. Knowlton; and two lifelong friends, Marilyn Gagnon and Julie Bannister.

She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Glenn and Richard and his wife, Joanne; daughters, Jan L. Minichiello and Joye L. Knowlton; and grandson, Mark W. Blanchette.

Her family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff at CMMC, Russell Park Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for her care and their compassion.
