Bridge results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Feb. 23 were as follows: first, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; second, David Lock and Paul Sherman; third, Marta Clements and Claire Lyons.

Winners at Schooner Estates on Feb. 24 were: first, Les Buzzell and John Hackett; second, Jean and Phil Bird; third, Claire Lyons and Anna Vitiello.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.

Dempsey center program

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Letting Go of Anxiety,” the final installment of a three-part Growing through Cancer series.

The workshop will take place at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, in conference room A, 12 High St. Presenter Marcy Covey will teach techniques for managing emotions in a healthy, proactive manner.

Spring gala

LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center’s 14th annual gala “Spring Fling . . . Sowing Seeds of Hope,” will be held on Saturday, March 20, at the Kora Temple. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing.

Hosted by the CMMC Associates and the CMMC Woman’s Hospital Association, the evening will include a social hour and a four course dinner. Music will be provided by the Jim Ciampi Band and a photographer will be available for pictures to commemorate the evening.
