Thanks to the Sun Journal for exposing some of the abuses in the local health care compensation system (Feb. 14). It just illustrated another reason why health care reform in this country is so necessary!

I have experienced the best and the worst of this nation’s health care.

Cheers to Kathie Leonard for speaking out about her inner conflict regarding Central Maine Healthcare board members being compensated for their efforts while she was the board chairwoman. It is the only such board in the state that is compensated.

Jeers to present board Chairman Paul Dionne, who I like and respect, for condoning such excessive staff compensation and board perks.
