CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Maine Handicapped Skiing, the state’s largest adaptive recreation program for people with disabilities, will host the first annual Sugarloaf Social on Saturday, March 6, at the Sugarloaf Golf Course Clubhouse. The event begins at 5:30pm.
The event will feature a sampling of fine food and wine, and a basket raffle and silent auction featuring donations from many local vendors. There will also be a brief presentation about MHS programs at Sugarloaf featuring several special guests.
All proceeds from the event directly support and benefit Maine Handicapped Skiing’s adaptive alpine program at Sugarloaf.
“As we enter our second decade of offering free adaptive alpine skiing at Sugarloaf, we are excited to launch this new event,” said MHS Executive Director Peter Adams.
“The Sugarloaf Social will be a fun way for the Carrabassett Valley community to learn more about Maine Handicapped Skiing’s mission and work. The table has been set so nicely by our Sugarloaf volunteers – a mouth-watering event at a fair price, during a perfect time of evening on a prime-time March weekend. All proceeds will go directly to MHS Sugarloaf and will help us buy more equipment and other things that we need in order to meet our long-term growth goals,” he said.
Event tickets are $50 each person and may be purchased along with raffle tickets at Sugarloaf Guest Services or by calling 1-800-639-7770. A limited number of event tickets are still available. Those unable to attend the event may still purchase raffle tickets and participate in the drawings.
