NORWAY — Former Republican state Rep. Tom Winsor announced recently he is a candidate for the Republican nomination in the June primary for House District 95, which includes the towns of Greenwood, Norway, Waterford and West Paris.

Winsor represented these same towns for eight years between 1994 and 2002 when he was required to step down because of term limits. Sawin Millett of Waterford, the current representative in that seat, cannot run for re-election this year because of the term limit law.

Winsor is retired and lives in Norway with his wife, Patricia. He has three adult children, Jonathan, Dawn and Joshua, and two grandchildren, Emily and Theo.

Winsor served on the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee for six years and on the Labor Committee for two years while in the Legislature. He is currently on the board of directors for Western Maine Transportation, the Child Health Center and REACH. He is a naval veteran, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club. He has served on the school board for SAD 17, as register of probate for Oxford County, on the board of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and as vice president of the Maine Appalachian Trail Club.
