Beth Neuts of Freeport, a student at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, is reflected in her laptop as she listens to instructor Betty Robinson, back left, lead a discussion during a graduate-level class called “Ethical and Spiritual Dimensions of Leadership” at the Lewiston campus. The “blended” class allows students to meet face to face with professors one week and online the next. The arrangement allows students and professors to meet in person and develop relationships one week, and save travel time the next. Both the blended and online classes are contributing to an overall increase in enrollment of 11 percent this semester compared to a year ago, college spokesman Dan Philbrick said.
