Regarding the Bates Mill No. 5 building, what a wonderful and fitting tribute to our veterans if the building or land could be converted to a veterans hospital and home.

I cannot think of a more honorable tribute to those who gave so much, and asked for so little, so that we may enjoy the many rights and freedoms that many of us — I’m sorry to say — take for granted.

The site would be perfect, being across the street from the Veterans Park and memorials.

What an impressive sight for visitors traveling to our fine cities.
