LITCHFIELD — Katherine A. (Wallace) Hyde, 64, of the Small Road, Litchfield, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb., 26, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
She was born in Gardiner on June 11, 1945, the daughter of Etta M. Wallace and the late Robert P. Wallace.
She was a graduate of Gardiner High School.
Katherine married James P. Hyde Sr. on Dec., 31, 1966. They were married for 44 years.
She was employed by Sabattus Elementary School for many years as well as track manager for Oxford Dragway. She was also involved with the Litchfield American Legion Auxiliary Post 181 and with the Dare Program. Her favorite things to do were spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, vacationing and going to sporting events.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, James P. Hyde Sr., of Litchfield; a daughter, Tina Mitchell and her husband, Jeffrey, of Chesterville; a son, Jimmy Hyde and his wife, Oneica, of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, MeKae, Corbin, Dalton Lee and Morgan; one great-grandson, Gabriel; her mother, Etta M. Wallace; her brother, Robert P. Wallace; two sisters, Elaine Commeau and Jane Wallace; as well as many nieces and nephews.
