Bridge results

NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Feb. 26 in the Fare Share Building, Main Street, when a two-and-a-half table Howell movement was played. Finishing first were John Bravo and Les Buzzell, with Dick Allen and Denny Raymond second.

AARP meeting

SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, March 8, at the First Congregational Church, E. Main Street.  A macaroni and cheese dinner will be served at noon and the meeting will begin at 1 p.m.

The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by noon Friday, March 5.

Church group to meet

NORWAY — The Church Women United will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 5, at the Second Congregation Church, Main Street. The speaker will discuss human rights. There will refreshments following the meeting.

SOUTH PARIS — The seventh annual SAD 17 Head Custodians Chinese Auction will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School cafeteria. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

Funds are for scholarships the organization awards to any student furthering their education.

There will be more than 200 items to win including a 32-inch flat screen TV with LCD and DVD, a $400 upright vacuum, handmade queen-sized quilts and gift certificates to many local businesses.

There will be a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, grab bags, hot dogs, chips and soda during the auction.

Senior club

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Methodist Church, for a meeting and luncheon. It will be a potluck luncheon and members are asked to bring either a salad, hot dish or dessert to share. Members should also bring items for the auction.
