Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 1 were as follows: first, Les Buzzell and Paul Sherman; second, Mary Leahey and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; first in B, Marta Clements and Claire Lyons.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Schooner Estates in Auburn. A partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games in the area.

Pet night

PORTLAND — Pack Life of Auburn is selling tickets for the Adopt A Pet Night at the Portland Pirates hockey game, to be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Pack Life is selling tickets for the main deck for $12 and $3 will go directly to the organization.

There will be prizes, giveaways, information and adoptable dogs on hand. There will be a silent auction for a Jonathan Bernier autographed goalie stick at the Pack Life Booth.

MS Support

LEWISTON — The next MS Support Group and Caregivers meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at the Lepage Conference Center, 99 Campus Ave. For more information, contact Andy Michaud at 784-7927 or Ron Pomerleau at 783-1863.

Another support group will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, May 14, for people who can’t join the evening meeting. More information will be provided at a later date.

Grange meeting

POLAND — Excelsior Grange 5, 446 Harris Hill Road, will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6. The lecturer’s program will start at 7, with a talk by Douglas Hodgkin, a former professor at Bates College and historian, and author of a book on the Lewiston Grange.

Also on the program will be musical numbers by members of the Wardwell family. The business meeting will follow. Grange members and anyone interested in hearing Hodgkin are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
