AUBURN —  The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, recently donated $42,000 to Good Shepherd Food-Bank to help with the organization’s greater demand. The donation was part of a total $680,000 TD Bank is giving to food banks in the areas where TD Bank operations are located.

On Feb.25, TD Bank executives visited the Good Shepherd Food-Bank for a tour of the facility and to help stock and replenish shelves. “This donation supports the basic need of our community,” said Larry Wold, market president for TD Bank. “We are happy to step in and offer our help with the hope that no one in Maine goes hungry.”

Good Shepherd Food-Bank provides food for those at risk of hunger by soliciting surplus food and distributing it to nonprofit programs throughout Maine. TD Bank provides financial and other support to affordable housing initiatives, financial literacy and education, and the environment, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
