The school celebrated Read Across America Day with a Reading Stamina Challenge on Monday. During an afternoon assembly, medals were handed out for reading. The school tied physical and reading stamina together. Throughout the school, children read more than 147,000 minutes.
Lillian Souweine, Kaitlyn Buck, and Deshawna Valley choose books provided by the federal and local Reading Is Fundamental program at Rumford Elementary School on Monday. Each child was able to pick out a book as part of the day’s celebration, Reading Stamina Challenge.
