Wal-Mart donates $250 for associates who volunteer 25 hours or more to registered nonprofit organizations. Irma McGuinness, left, personnel manager/community involvement, presented a $250 grant to Rita Dube, right, executive director of the Franco-American Heritage Center. McGuinness volunteers on numerous occasions at the center, from working in the kitchen making crepes, to ushering people to their seats or working the will-call window. In 2009, more than 6,000 hours of volunteer time were spent by approximately 75 volunteers. Dube said that the center is very busy and they depend on volunteers on a daily basis.
