RANGELEY — Fire heavily damaged a house and destroyed a barn and attached shed on Allen Street in Rangeley Village late Sunday afternoon, Fire and Rescue Chief Rudy Davis said Monday.
The fire also destroyed and damaged plumbing tools and supplies the owner, Odie Bacheldor of Langtown Township stored there, Bacheldor said.
Seventeen firefighters from the Rangeley department responded to the fire call at about 5 p.m.
When they arrived the barn and attached buildings were fully involved, Davis said.
A state fire investigator will be on the scene this morning.
“We do not necessarily suspect foul play,” Davis said. “We just want to find out what caused it.”
He believes that he may have some insurance for his business but was unclear what losses might be covered, Bacheldor said Monday morning.
