SUMNER — A Fayette woman was injured Tuesday afternoon when her car collided with another on Route 219, Oxford County Deputy William Nelson said.

Shawna Thibodeau, 24, was taken by Buckfield Rescue to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway for a head injury suffered when she hit the rearview mirror, the investigator said.

Bernard Stevens, 56, of Sumner, the other driver involved, was not injured in the 4 p.m. crash, he said.

Thibodeau was headed east and Stevens was driving west when Thibodeau’s car turned left onto Route 140 into his lane, Nelson said. “She said she didn’t see him,” he said.

Sumner Fire Department also responded to the accident.

Thibodeau’s 1991 Cutlass Sierra was demolished, while Stevens’ 1996 Chevrolet Lumina had front-end damage but was driveable, the deputy said.
