PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Grocery chain Trader Joe’s is considering coming to Portland.

The company has applied to the federal government to purchase the former Wild Oats Market store on Marginal Way. The Federal Trade Commission is seeking comment on the proposal.

The former Wild Oats store is one of 13 stores Whole Foods agreed to sell last year to resolve the FTC’s challenge of its $565 million purchase of Wild Oats.
