The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club teamed up with the Lewiston MAINEiacs to raise more than $1,000 for the eradication of polio worldwide. Rotarians sold advance tickets to the Feb. 6 hockey game and Rotary volunteers sold foam pucks at game night for the Chuck-a-Puck event after the second period. Proceeds of the ticket sales, foam pucks and change jars placed around the Androscoggin Bank Colisee raised $1,062 for Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign. Local Rotarians also raised another $900 at their weekly meetings through change jars and monthly auction items. George O’Connell, left, of the Lewiston MAINEiacs presented a check to Rotarian and event coordinator Claire Durgin for the proceeds raised at the game.
