OXFORD — One man was hurt when his car went into a ditch after colliding with another vehicle on Allen Hill Road on Thursday morning.

According to Oxford police officer Alan Coffin, a blue 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by 67-year-old Sharon Bumpus of 53 Oliver Road, Oxford, was pulling out of Oliver Road when the car collided with a 1996 Oldsmobile sedan being driven south on Allen Hill Road by Timothy Huggins, 32, of Paris.

Coffin said the impact sent the Oldsmobile about 20 feet down the road and into a ditch.

Huggins, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway for treatment of facial lacerations, Coffin said.

Bumpus, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured in the crash.
