FALMOUTH (AP) — State troopers say a truck driver was talking on his cell phone and may have been driving too fast when his tractor-trailer overturned on the Falmouth exit of the Maine Turnpike.

Troopers say 40-year-old Marc Moreau of North Turner was killed in the crash at about 10:30 a.m on the southbound exit ramp. It took more than four hours to remove his body from the crushed cab.

The Maine Turnpike Authority says the mile 52 southbound exit ramp was closed while the crash was investigated and the wreckage was removed.

Troopers say the tractor-trailer driver was hauling garbage to a landfill in the Bangor area and tons of garbage spilled when the truck overturned.
