UNITY, Maine (AP) — Residents in the central Maine town of Unity have voted against a moratorium on wind turbines higher than 35 feet.
Officials told the Morning Sentinel of Waterville that a six-month moratorium would give them time to develop a permanent ordinance over wind turbines.
But voters turned down the request at Saturday’s annual town meeting.
Residents in several other central Maine communities recently have passed ordinances restricting wind turbines in their towns.
