LEWISTON — Dave Jones, the city’s director of Public Services, was presented with the Maine Chapter of the American Public Works Association’s 2009 Public Works Leader of the Year award. Jones was presented with the award while attending the chapter’s annual spring meeting.

“Dave is a true professional and is a great asset to the All-America City of Lewiston,” City Administrator Edward A. Barrett said in a prepared statement. “He is a man of integrity and well-respected by his staff, his peers, our elected officials and all who know him. We are fortunate to have an individual of his caliber and professional expertise working on behalf of the city and its residents.”

Jones was selected to receive the award for his leadership and involvement in several projects, including the implementation of the city’s storm water district, the Gendron Business Park development, Water Street Combined Sewer Overflow Storage Facility and joint Lewiston-Auburn drinking water initiatives.
