Never has a more accurate headline been written: “Woman found guilty in boat crash can’t drive.”

Literally, this woman cannot drive.

A New Hampshire judge last week revoked the driver’s license of Erica Blizzard, who was convicted March 18 of negligent homicide for slamming her 37-foot speed boat into an island on Lake Winnipesaukee, killing a friend and severely injuring another woman.

Although there was evidence Blizzard had been drinking, the jury was deadlocked on a separate count of driving while intoxicated.

The day after her trial ended, Blizzard was cited for driving 84 mph on Interstate 93 after nearly hitting a state trooper on the side of the road.

According to the trooper, Blizzard told him, “I’m really sorry. I was having trouble entering numbers in my phone.”

Good grief!

Blizzard deserves to spend a good, long time in something less speedy — like a jail cell.

When she emerges, she should be prohibited from driving anything with a motor attached.
