Liliette J. Toutain

1926 – 2010

AUBURN — Liliette J. Toutain, 84, a resident of 25 Pond Road, Lewiston, died Friday evening, April 2, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility following a long illness with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 29, 1926, the daughter of George and Marianne (Goulet) Veilleux.

She attended local schools and was a 1944 graduate of Lewiston High School. Following her education, she was employed for New England Telephone for five years as a telephone operator. She was then employed for North American Philips for 15 years.

Liliette was a member of the former St. Mary’s Church, and then became a member of Holy Cross Church. She was an expert seamstress who sewed throughout her life for her entire family.

She also enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, Marcel, and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include her husband, Marcel Toutain, of Lewiston, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1947; one son, Henry Toutain and his wife, Beverly, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two brothers, Eugene Veilleux and Laurent Veilleux and his wife, Marinne, all of Lewiston; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Elizabeth Toutain, both of Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

She was predeceased by one sister, Fleur-Ange Charest.
