FARMINGTON — An “Earth Day Every Day!” recycling event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24.

Old and broken electronics or “e-waste” will be collected for recycling at the Aubuchon Hardware parking lot located on the Wilton Road, Routes 2 and 4. Anyone, regardless of what town they reside in, has an opportunity to bring in old or broken electronics.

There is no fee for individuals and families for the service. Old South First Congregational Church, UCC, of Farmington, is organizing the event and has partnered with eWaste Recycling Solutions LLC of Auburn, which will bring a team to pack and transport TVs, computers, monitors, VCRs and other electronic devices.

The primary focus of the e-waste recycling and disposal project is to provide responsible disposal and recycling of those electronic devices. Other electronic equipment will also be accepted. A detailed list is available at www.ewastemaine.com.

Members of the church will assist with traffic flow, parking and unloading. Free will donations will be accepted to support the church’s community service, outreach and youth programs.

Businesses interested in participating in the recycling and disposal event should contact Rick Clark, ERS, at 449-1709. For further information, contact the Old South Church office at 778-0424.
