AUBURN — A funeral Mass honoring the life of Normand W. Chasse was celebrated on Monday at St. Philips Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, following prayers at the Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard McLaughlin celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At the beginning of the Mass, Normand’s children, Danny Chasse and Nancy Keith draped their father’s casket with the burial pall that commemorates their father’s baptism into new life. During Mass, the first reading was presented by granddaughter, Danielle Keith. The prayer of the faithful was read by Normand’s daughter, Linda Caron. The offertory was brought to the altar by granddaughter, Dawn Mailhot and Wendy Simard. Pallbearers were Marc Mailhot, Jason Simard, Danielle Keith, Norman Beane, Doug Allison and Ronnie Chasse. A reception of fellowship was held at the Ramada Inn after the committal services at the cemetery.
