Wilton — A Homecoming celebration for Alton “Chuck” Walston, of Wilton, was held on Tuesday, April 6, at the First Apostolic Church in Wilton, with the Rev. Rick Stoops, District Superintendent of Maine, United Pentecostal Church International, officiating. The Rev. Harry Hutchins opened in greeting and prayer and then offered a special song with his wife, Kristy. A media presentation followed with reflections by Gary Walston, the Rev. Jacky Willhoite, and the Rev. Glenn and Barbara Krouse all offering special reflections. The Rev. Clara Cote offered a special song and the Rev. Daryl Scott offered a saxophone solo. The Rev. Rick Stoops gave the message. The service concluded with the family choir surrounding the casket and singing, “What A Day That Will Be,” as the funeral home staff processed from the church with Alton’s casket. Following the homecoming celebration, a luncheon was held in the Church Fellowship Hall. The Rev. Tim Krouse, Joshua Acedo, Earl Haines, Paul Fongemie, Zachary Stoops, and Dr. James Springer served as pall bearers. Interment will be on May 4 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton. Funeral services were cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center of Wilton.
