FARMINGTON — Janette W. Lamkin, 78, of Chesterville, died Thursday, April 15, at the Sandy River Center for Nursing Care.

She was born on July 30, 1931, in Farmington, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Gordon) Wright. She attended Farmington High School and went on to the Farmington Normal School, where she met and later married, Roy Lamkin Jr. on June 14, 1953.

She retired from the Farmers Home Administration after 24 years of service as the Franklin County Program Technician. She developed many strong relationships with her co-workers over the years, especially, Patricia, Brenda and Wendi, who she thought of as family and went on to assume some of the same job responsibilities as her after her retirement.

She enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, mowing the lawn, and the company of her dogs and cat over the years. Her greatest pleasure however came in the form of spoiling her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Lamkin Jr. of Chesterville; a brother, Larry Wright and his wife, Ethel, of Gorham; sister-in-law, Christine Wright of North Vassalboro; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Louis Wright Jr.; and a sister, Joyce Ridley.
