LEWISTON — Local jazz ensemble A Moment’s Notice will perform jazz standards and originals Friday, April 16, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries.
Making up the band are John Smedley on guitar, Jeff Taylor on bass, Michael Hansen on drums and Dale Chapman on alto sax. A Moment’s Notice has been performing locally since the 1990s and within the last two years welcomed Chapman. The show will start at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, April 17, The Nitpickers, which plays traditional and original bluegrass and newgrass, will perform at the restaurant at 115 Middle St.
Formed in June of 2007, The Nitpickers recently released a self-titled CD displaying a range of material from newgrass instrumentals to eloquent ballads to playful modern bluegrass.
Band members are Done Bernier on fiddle, mandolin, guitar and vocals; Jane Bernier on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Rich Bernier on dobro, guitar and vocals; Rick Dale on banjo and vocals; and Woody Woods on bass and vocals. The show will start at 8 p.m.
