EAST WILTON — Western Maine Community Action is inviting artists from Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties to participate in The Art of Community Action Exhibit at the administrative building at 20A Church St.

The agency’s plan is to host three exhibits each year and include as many artists as possible. They request each artist submit one (or two, depending on the response) of their original works to be displayed. There is no fee and no jury.

The first exhibit will include artists in order of their response. To indicate an interest in participating, e-mail art@wmca.org by Saturday, May 1. Space is limited. Artists should provide a description, the dimensions and medium of the submission. Only wall-hung work will be accepted.

Artist’s contact information and prices will be available to the public during the exhibit and any sales will be conducted between the customer and artist. No commission will be charged, but a voluntary donation of five to 10 percent of any sale to a program of the artist’s choice is requested. Visit www.wmca.org to see the programs.

The Art of Community Action Exhibit will coincide with the 45th anniversary of Western Maine Community Action. The exhibit will be on display from late June through October. The artist’s opening and reception is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24.
