WELCHVILLE — The Oxford Hills Christian Academy Players will perform “Little Women,” Louisa May Alcott’s classic story, adapted by Scott Davidson, on Saturday and Sunday, May1-2.

The cast of 13 is made up of students in grades 9 through 12 who have been rehearsing for nearly two months.

A beloved family play, “Little Women” is about the March family and its struggles and triumphs during the Civil War era. It is a story about family, growing up, love and dealing with loss.

Running about two and a half hours, the play is directed by Michelle Wheeler, drama teacher at the academy. It will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of Hosanna Church on Schoolhouse Road. Doors will open a half-hour before each show.

Senior Erica Ellingwood plays Marmee; senior Sara Holbrook plays Jo; sophomore Rachel Marston plays Beth; senior Lindsay Ellingwood plays Meg; and freshman Veronica Dyck plays Amy. Other cast members are Amanda Dyck as Mrs. Gardener and Father; Tony Stevens as John Brooke; Steve Corning as Theodore Lawrence; Paige Emerson as Aunt March; Lyz Donovan as Hannah; Caylie Anderson as Sallie Gardener; Maggie Staples as Annie Moffat and Tiana Menders as Belle Moffat.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students. They may be purchased at the door or at the school office in the Fox School building in Paris. For more information, call 743-5970.
