MECHANIC FALLS —Two country music events will be held on Sunday, May 2, one at the Silver Spur and the other at the Jay Community Building.

A Down East Country Music Association show featuring association musicians and entertainers will run from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at the Silver Spur.

Donations of $5 per person will be accepted at the door. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for the election of officers. A membership meeting will follow at 1 p.m.

The Maine Country Music Association’s event, “Spring Country Sunday,” will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at Jay’s community building at 13 Community Drive. Scheduled to perform are Blaine Burhoe, Doug Mathieu, Sandy Waite Haskell, The Higgins Family, Cleo and Donna Alley, Jared and Christie, Burt Hopler, Slim Andrews and the Crosbys.

Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors; children under 12 admitted free. Light refreshments will be available. For more information, call 645-2472.
