STANDISH — The Schoolhouse Arts Center will present “Grease,” opening May 13 and running through May 23.

The musical written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey is named for the 1950s American working-class youth subculture known as greasers.

Set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School, “Grease” revolves around 10 teens as they navigate the complexities of love, rebellion, class conflict, cars and drive-ins. The music recreates the sounds of early rock ‘n’ roll.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for students and seniors.

Schoolhouse Arts Center is on Route 114, just north of Routes 114 and 35. For more information, call 642-3743 or log on to www.schoolhousearts.org.
