The Rev. Jeremy Taylor, a 17th-century Anglican minister, wrote the following comforting words about prayer:
“Prayer is the peace of our spirits; the stillness of our thoughts; the evenness of our recollections; the seat of our meditation, or reflection; the rest of our cares and the calm of our tempest. Prayer is the issue of a quiet mind, of untroubled thoughts. It is the daughter of charity and the sister of meekness.”
Sure sounds good to me.
And we can do it always, because it is the lifting up of the mind and heart to God, even without words.
