Dale ‘Buck’ W. Buckingham

1947 – 2010

 FARMINGTON – Dale “Buck” W. Buckingham, 62, a resident of Crash Road , Jay, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, May 1, at Franklin Memorial Hospital .

He was born on Sept. 20, 1947, in Livermore Falls, the son of Wendall and Margaret (Timberlake) Buckingham. He was a 1965 graduate of Wilton Academy. On May 18, 1991 in Jay, he married Kathleen L. McDonald. Dale worked as an instrument man at International Paper, Androscoggin Mill in Jay. He later started “Buck”s Refrigeration” and was owner and operator of the company for the past 15 years. He took much pride in his business and was devoted to all his customers.

Dale was a member of the Sons of AmVets and Hillside Sports Club in Jay and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Rumford. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar, playing pool at family gatherings, camping, kayaking, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, attending car shows, winning several trophies with his 1948 Ford Sedan, bluegrass music, working bingo at the AmVets on Sundays and Nascar.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Buckingham of Jay; his daughter, Lori Lareau of Saco; sons, Ron Buckingham of North Carolina and Wayne Buckingham of Jay; stepdaughters, Jessica Kachnovich and her husband, Tim, of Livermore and Becky McDonald of Limington; four grandchildren, Marissa and Nathan Lareau and Tyler and Ainsley Kachnovich; his sister, Marsha Hardy and her husband, Dale, of Jay; and his brother, Melvin Buckingham and his wife, Pam, of Belfast; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather, Jasper Buckingham; and his sister, Julie.
