MARY E. FLYNN

1930 – 2010

RUMFORD – Mary Ernestine Jordan Flynn, 79, of Rumford Center, died of Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday, May 1, at the Rumford Community Home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on Dec. 11, 1930, at Waltham, the fourth child of Elliot and Marguerite (Bunker) Jordan. Mary graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1949.

She worked as a store clerk at the Waltham General Store and Richardson’s General Store in Rumford Center. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, swimming and time with her family. She was married in Ellsworth on July 8, 1950, to Edward F. Flynn.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edward, of Rumford Center; daughters, Sharon Farnum and husband, James, of Tampa, Fla., and Vicki Bustamante and husband, Carlos, of Rumford Center; sons, Edward E. Flynn and the late Diane Reichert, of Gorham, N.H., Gregory Flynn and wife, Caroline, of Mexico, Randall Flynn of Derry, N.H., and Terrance Flynn of Rumford Center; sisters, Madalyn Jordan of Hulls Cove and Gloria Johnson and companion, Ron Gregory, of Why, Ariz.; brothers, Thomas Jordan Sr. and wife, Sandra, of Waltham, Marshall Jordan and wife, Patsy, of Waltham, Philip Jordan and wife, Joan, of Frankfort and R. Dale Jordan and companion, Jean Crockett, of Eastbrook and Ellsworth; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Pauline Wilcox; brothers, Harvey, Russell and James Jordan; and also a granddaughter, Bridgetta Mary Flynn.

The Flynn family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks for the excellent care she received while a resident of the Rumford Community Home, especially from the staff of the North Wing.
